International Graduate Student Admissions

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited U.S university. Official U.S. transcripts are required to be attached to the application.
  • If your bachelor’s degree was earned outside of the U.S., you will need to have your transcript evaluated by a credential evaluation company and sent to Utah Tech University. (World Education Services Recommended). Any credential evaluation company must be a part of NACES.

    This process can take 2-3 months; therefore, we require proof that any foreign transcripts have been submitted to a credential evaluation company 60 days prior to the program application deadline. If not provided, your application will be moved to the next application term.

Complete the application at apply.utahtech.edu

Pay the $75 non-refundable application fee.

Complete all program specific admission requirements

Include submission of transcripts, test scores (GRE, GMAT, or MAT where required), letters of recommendation, personal statements, and other supporting documentation.

Language Requirements

  • TOEFL-paper-based 550, computer-based 213, or internet-based 79
  • IELTS-6.0
  • Overall Duolingo English test score of 95+

If your program of study requires specific coursework, syllabi for each course must be sent to samira.hall@utahtech.edu.

30 Days Prior to Program Application Deadline

  1. Provide color copy of passport (must be valid for at least six more months).
  2. Provide an official document from a banking institution showing  available and accessible funds for the total Cost of Attendance for your chosen graduate program (navigate to the bottom of the page).  The available amount must be equal to at least $25,400 USD – $40,054 USD. (This amount will vary depending on the specific program, dependents and living situation).

Once Accepted Into a Graduate Program

Submit any program specific forms

Verify the I-20 documentation for accuracy.

Pay $500 Enrollment deposit to Utah Tech

(If your visa is denied $478 will be refunded if requested before the start of the first day of classes)

Complete the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-160)

Complete the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-160) and pay the $160 application fee. You will need to provide the SEVIS number found on your I-20.

5

Pay $350 to SEVIS to request an interview for a visa.
